.shalom.: the band

two weekends ago, i hopped on a bus with a bus full of people i don't know and went to a retreat site where they were going to train us for two days to get ready for a camp in which we would all be counselors for four days in july (whew..run on sentence). i really didn't know what i was getting myself into--all i knew was that a lady called our house and asked if i could be a counselor there. hmm...ok. so, i went. i begin to carry on small conversations with several people but didn't really feel connected or clicked with them (maybe my chinses wasn't good?!)

anyho, out of the 50 counselors, they split us up into two teams :A and B. Then, on separate teams, we did lots of group games that we are going to do in July and also some outdoor events (like rock climbing, jump off a 6 floor building with a rope tie to our body, walking across cable lines, etc). i am so thankful that God placed me in team B. everyone in team B were incredible and we had so much fun together.

within team B, we were again split into two teams: 3 and 4. I was in group #4. WHAT A BLESSING! my little group #4 consisted of all Christians (not all counselors are christians) and they all love to sing/play music to Jesus. my heart was so touched and so blessed by that. we would sing every where we go and we even got down on our knees to pray for each other and for the camp one night for a while. WOW...praise God for like-minded friends and co-laborers in Christ. also, during camp time, they are having a "talent show night" and we were asked to play together as a "band" for the opening night. what band? yes, our band:D

so, after the short weekend trip, we got together a week later and practice for the first time. tears well up in my eyes because each and one of them are incredible. GOd has been training them up one by one in their lives and now, at the right time, allow us to synergy/integrate all his blessings together in one room. the drummer was perfect. the pianist was perfect. the bass guitarist was perfect. everyone was truly equipped and God just allowed us to be together, at his right timing, for a beautiful purpose. we left practice that day filled with the Lord's joy and excitment.

but now, my question is: Father, what is the next step? what is your plan for our lives?

i don't know. but He knows. and he also knew that i would meet them just in time to have a concert at my parents' school. SO, yesterday, may 26, we had an outdoor concert at my parents' school. we had worship, testimonies, and free food for the 200students who showed up during lunch time. my heart is glad:D

i've been back in taiwan for exactly 3 months now...and God has been nothing less than amazing and awesome. i love Jesus. i am thankful for the extended period of quiet times and prayer times i get to have...without the extra blessing of school and tests:P i am truly thankful for my family and serving alongside with them (though it's not always peachy). i am so blessed by all the new friends i get to meet and have intentional conversations and yummy meals with them, both believers and non believers. I am so blown away by how much the Lord does love me, he really does!
