-love-
Aside from busy school work and homegroup activities, the Lord has been very faithful in teaching me more about who i am in him, the hurts and wounds in my heart, and the junks in my heart that he wants to remove. it's been good to learn how to love and to accept our Father's unconditional love daily. praise God. what a joy it is to be able to have a better grasp of his love for us, for that changes everything we are about in this life and how we live daily! i am beginning to taste the sweetness of being able to be in a community where we truly wrestle together on hard issues and pray together with expectations that the Lord may grow and mature us in him. whoo hoo.
-discipleship-
I have the privilege this semester to disciple several girls in my homegroup. two of the girls in my group are going through an equipping class called Discipleship with me. this class meets every tuesday night where we get together with others from the church to learn about the basic foundations of our faith. it blows my mind every time i go to class because such simple truths of our faith can have such a BIG impact in our day to day life if we truly believe it and act upon it. truths such as God's unconditional love for us, the power of the Word, his constant presence with us, etc have been powerful truths in my day to day life. the Lord also brought three other college freshmen girls in our homegroup this year. it's been so fun to hang out with them, encourage them, and to spur them on into developing a consistent relationship with the Lord- so that they may grow in their knowledge, faith, and love for our Father. :D

4. decision about spring semester: not sure what to do.
5. medical school acceptance- still waiting to hear back from the schools.
6. homegroup's growth- more mature in the Word and deeper in love with the Lord
-picture of the week-
what i love about this picture is that Jerry (the boy with the guitar in the picture) learned how to play the guitar in less than 3 weeks. i repeat, less than 3 weeks!!! God has just blessed him abundantly with talents and skills and i can't wait to see what He has instore for his life. i am so glad i was able to bless my brother with that guitar:D notice our awesome crocs!
"all you need in nigeria is a guitar and a pair of crocs:)" - me
this is SO true. here's why:
1. music brings life. it bridges cultures. people can't help but stop and sing and dance with you when there's music. plus, these kids, who has never seen/play the guitar before, are SO talented that all they need was someone to bring them a guitar and they were already made to play!!!! seriously- i didn't even have to teach them how to strum and they strum with perfect rhythm.
2. i was in nigeria during rainy season. so, crocs were the BEST shoes. i could walk around floods and slippery floor without falling or losing a shoe. also, when we went to the leper colonies, we had to walk through alleys filled with feces and "unknown" liquid. it was nice to just able to walk through these alleys without seeing what we were walking on and then rinse off our feet before we get into the van and TA DA...no dirty feet/shoes.
i love you all. goodbye for now.
